Nike Air Trainer Huarache

Tinker Hatfield’s 1991 Nike Huarache came with the tagline “Have you hugged your foot today?” Inspired by water-skiing boots, the Huarache featured a neoprene bootie, which was a groundbreaking and distinctive feature for any sneaker at the time. Building on the original Huarache, the Nike Air Trainer Huarache came out in 1992 as a high-top cross-trainer that features the same exoskeleton-based design with the addition of a forefoot strap. Key colorways include ‘90s color schemes like “Berry” and “Green Topaz.”
