Six years after the Air Force 1, Nike introduced the Air Force 3 in 1988—the same year as Nike basketball icons such as the Air Jordan 3 and Air Alpha Force 2. Featuring the instantly recognizable Force emblem on the tongue, the Air Force 3 was notably more technical than its siblings, featuring a prominent heel stabilizer.
