Nike Air Flightposite
Building on the progressive and innovative design of the 1997 Foamposite, Nike unveiled the Air Flightposite in 1999. Both shoes were created by Eric Avar, who used a shell-like composite material to create a basketball shoe that was like none before it. The Flightposite featured the addition of a shroud-like lace covering, which was also introduced in the eventual Flightposite 2 and Flightposite 3 shortly after. In the NBA, the Flightposite became a common choice around 2000 when it was worn by the likes of Tim Duncan and Kevin Garnett. Key colorways in the Air Flightposite range include “Eggplant,” “Copper” and “Metallic Gold.”
