Air Jordan Melo 1.5

Jordan Brand sought out Carmelo Anthony after the 2003 1st round pick was drafted by the Denver Nuggets. Before receiving a signature shoe, the power forward wore a variety of retros including the Air Jordan 12 and Air Jordan 2. Designed by D’Wayne Edwards, the Melo 1.5 debuted in 2004, borrowing design elements from the Air Jordan 1 and 2, while adding personal touches for Melo. Alongside the wings logo on the heel, the tongue featured a wraparound design that offered a snug fit and utilized a sweatband-like material—a nod to Melo's headbands. A Phylon midsole houses full-length Nike Air cushioning, while the rubber outsole boasts an update from the original AJ1 and AJ2 traction patterns. Several popular colorways include the ‘Hoodie Melo’, ‘Knicks’ and ‘Black University Blue.’
