Adidas NMD XR1

In 2015, adidas unveiled the new NMD franchise, short for “nomad.” Following up on the original NMD_R1, adidas released the NMD_XR1, which kept the sock-like aesthetic of the shoe and added several hiking-inspired details. The XR1 came with an upper cage for support in addition to an articulated collar shape. The XR1 Trail took those elements even further by adding rugged tread on the outsole for grip. Key colorways include the 'Zebra’ and 'Triple Black' versions as well as a collaboration with Mastermind Japan.
