The innovative Nike Foamposite was unlike any performance basketball shoe that came before it. Released in 1997 and designed by Eric Avar, the Foamposite is unique in its look and construction, made using a unique foam material that is shaped using a specialized molding process. Worn by the likes of Penny Hardaway and Mike Bibby, the Nike Foamposite quickly became a collectible, thanks to its unique colorways including chrome editions, “Galaxy,” “Weatherman” and others.
