New Balance Basketball Shoes

Founded as a running brand, New Balance branched out into the world of basketball in 1983 with a new model called the New Balance 480. In 1989, the brand took another major step forward with the Steven Smith-designed 550, which was offered in both high-top and low-top versions. Aimé Leon Dore led the revival of the 550 in 2020 with the multi-chapter ‘International Friendship Through Basketball’ program. In recent years, New Balance has made a renewed push into basketball, signing the likes of Kawhi Leonard, Jamal Murray and others, while introducing innovative new performance models like the TWO WXY.
